CHRISTMAS 2011 NEWSLETTER
Perth (Sterling) bull show and sale in October brought success for two NE members. David Burkill saw his Kilbride Farm Newry sired bull ‘Beechtree Brandy’ sell for 3200gns whilst Peter and Caroline Goldsbrough sold their June 2010 bull ‘Copper Mill Bumblebee’ for 2900gns.
Carlisle show and sale on the 11th November saw John, Val and Craig Hollingsworth being awarded first in their class with their homebred bull ‘Midhope Bruno’ who later sold for 3000gns.David Burkill obtained a 2nd in a very strong class whilst Neil Hunter collected a creditable 5th. Ian and Margaret Steele sold a very smart cow and young heifer calf for 1620gns. Many congratulations.
There is a club meeting at Stoneleigh planned for 24th January 2012. Present will be Michael Robson, Iain Green, Robert Macgregor and Michael Barlow plus two members from each club. David and I will be present to represent the North East club. Congratulations to club member Brian Wise for being voted onto council for his second term. It is a real asset to have a conscientious representative on our doorstep.
As there is no Annual Dinner this year the next club meeting will be the AGM in March.
Thirsk show and sale will be held on Tuesday May 8th so please keep a note of the date in your diary.
